The book of Psalms must be understood in the context in which it was written.  While it is often referenced as a book of poetry, the style of poetry in Psalms is different from the poetry many of us are familiar with today.  Hebrew poetry, especially in Psalms, revolves around the idea of parallelism -- the use of components within a sentence or section that are similar in grammar, structure, meter, meaning, or sound.  Though this type of poetry may be different than what we are accustomed to, it is significant that the book of Psalms was written with this in mind.  Join us in the study to learn why!
