Why Four Gospel Accounts?

Why did God see fit to give us four accounts of the same gospel?  What benefit, if any, is there for us in the four different accounts?  Do the four accounts of the gospel instill more or less confidence in the legitimacy of Scripture?  These are questions we seek to deal with in this study.  Additionally, we will see unique characteristics of each gospel account and how those unique characteristics can aid our study and evangelism.
